Ohana (particularly our Class of 2021 Wildecats and families),
As announced at today’s Board of Education meeting, high schools will be moving forward with several senior events this spring. You can find Dr. Martirano’s full remarks at https://go.boarddocs.com/mabe/hcpssmd/Board.nsf/files/BZFT4S7572B2/$file/03%2025%202021%20Supt%20Work%20Session%20Remarks.pdf.
The last day of school for seniors is scheduled for Friday, May 28 (unless our graduation ceremony is scheduled prior to May 28).
Graduation will occur sometime between May 24-June 11. Seniors will be able to participate in graduation ceremonies in-person or virtually. We are awaiting information finalizing Merriweather Post Pavilion’s availability for in-person ceremonies and hope to have that shortly.
Additionally, we will be holding several senior events in the month of May that seniors are invited to attend.
*Tuesday, May 4 - Senior Drive-in Movie Night outdoors at WLHS
*Friday, May 14 - Daytime Senior Awards outdoors at WLHS (in-person and virtual options)
*Friday, May 14 - Evening Senior Celebration outdoors at WLHS; details to be shared as the event is planned by the senior class
*TBD - We will also be scheduling a time in mid-May for students to pick up their cap and gown at WLHS and take pictures for the graduation slide show
Please note that all event dates and details are subject to change based on health metrics and weather. Stay tuned for times and other details about all the events!
We are incredibly grateful to our Senior Class Council members, Class Advisors Rachel Kostelec and Jennifer Wilson, Graduation Coordinator Lindsey Startt, our School Counselors, Senior Administrator Karen Mason, the Senior Parents group, the WLHS PTSA and the WLHS Boosters for all of your partnership and support on behalf of our amazing Class of 2021. We look forward to celebrating with you!
