Howard County NSBE Jr (HoCo) is a “Pre-College Initiative” (PCI), created by NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers, www.nsbe.org), to promote academic excellence, technology awareness, and leadership to all students in grades 6 -12. regardless of nationality, race, religion or gender. Students participate in programming designed to promote an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

HoCo NSBE Jr (www.hoconsbejr.com) provides free SAT preparation and scholarship search assistance for each member. Also, our Mentoring Program with UMBC students has produced multiple Meyerhoff Scholars. 2020 - 2021 Technology Programs include Ten80 Racing Challenge, Mobile App Challenge and Cyber Patriots.
