The WLHS PTSA invites you to attend a workshop for parents and guardians on Thursday, June 11th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on parenting in turbulent times. During this traumatic period of COVID-19, parenting is more challenging than ever. Daily life has been profoundly disrupted, with you and your family navigating social isolation as well as fears about health and economic changes. This webinar will focus on helping parents and caregivers understand the issues their kids are dealing with and provide strategies on how to respond with thoughtfulness rather than being reactive. Attendees will also learn “user friendly” techniques to practice with their children to help them manage their behaviors and stay emotionally regulated.
The workshop will be facilitated by Family Works Together, an Maryland-based organization that provides counseling and education for families and schools. Funding for this workshop was provided by the Horizon Foundation through their Mental Health grant.
