10/15 MVA Driver's Permit Test

Wilde Lake High School partners with the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to offer students the Driver’s Permit Test for students that are 15 years old and 9 months old.

The MVA Driver’s Permit Test will be offered on Wednesday, October 15, 2025  at 2:40pm in the Cafeteria. Permission Forms (hard copy only) will be available on Monday, September, 2025 on Mrs. Broyles classroom door (room 223). Permission forms must be returned to Mrs. Broyles by October 8, 2025 prior to 2:30pm. Forms will not be accepted after October 8th.

REMINDERS:

  • Students must be at least 15 years old and 9 months old to take the permit test.
  • Permission slips will only be accepted with "wet signatures". No pictures, or electronic signatures will be accepted.
  • Students must return the required, signed parent permission slip to Mrs. Broyles in order to participate. Students will be registered on a first come first serve basis. Permission slips will be available in room 223.
  • Students must use their government name when taking the test, unless a legal name change was issued. All students must present a form of photo ID (e.g., State ID or School ID) before testing. If a student does not have a physical ID, we will accept a printed photo from their online student account.
  • All permission slips must be submitted at least 1 week prior to the testing date in order to ensure proper test prep. No permission slips will be accepted the day of the test.
  • The test is 20 minutes, with 25 questions.  In order to pass students may only have 3 incorrect answers. Unfortunately, extended time will not be offered for those students that require extended time accommodations. Those students that need to use extended time must complete the driver’s learners permit test at an MVA location, where they can be best supported with MVA personnel.
  • Once students pass the test on their testing day, they will be provided documentation to submit to their local MVA office so they can obtain the actual driver’s permit. The actual permit is $65.00; it is valid for two years. Students will need to have the required paperwork when visiting the MVA to obtain their actual permit: (Applicants must provide proof of age and identity, lawful status, social security number or proof of ineligibility, and Maryland residency.)

Please visit the websiteto confirm the required documentation. http://license.mva.maryland.gov/CheckList/default.aspx

The entire testing process takes about an hour, 15 minutes to check in students, 20 minutes for the assessment and 15 minutes to grade the assessment.
