The WLHS Family would like to congratulation Kareem Penn on his appointment as the new Athletics and Activities Manager!
Kareem Penn joined the staff at Wilde Lake High School in 2008. He has taught American Government, Political Science, and AP Government. Mr. Penn served as Acting ITL for Social Studies and a substitute Assistant Principal during the 2017-18 school year.
During his career at Wilde Lake, Mr. Penn has also served as the Varsity Baseball Coach and an assistant football coach for several years along with sponsoring Alpha Achievers and the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society. He was named Wilde Lake Senior Teacher of the Year in 2014 and 2017 and earned the Warring-Mitchell Law Society Community Service Award in 2015.
In addition to his work at Wilde Lake, Mr. Penn has also served as an administrator in the HCPSS BSAP Summer Institute program since 2011. He has a Master's in Administration and Supervision from Coppin State and Athletic Director Certification from McDaniel.
Mr. Penn possesses a sincere passion for student growth and achievement along with a longtime dedication to the Wilde Lake community. Students see him as a role model and inspiration ... someone they can count on and go to for help, support, motivation. Staff members and families see him as a consistent, visible presence in the WL community ... someone who is always there in both good times as well as when there is a challenge to be faced. Mr. Wilson and the administrative team wholeheartedly support Mr. Penn's interest in continuing to grow as a leader at Wilde Lake High.
