Wildecat Needs a Host Family for an exchange student from Palestine. He was selected for an extremely competitive scholarship from the U.S. State Department through the Y.E.S.program to experience ordinary life as a high school student here in the US. He is currently with a Welcome Family and is off to a good start at Wilde Lake. He is on the Varsity soccer team, participates in International Club, will do Robotics when soccer is over, is an avid coder, loves to read and enjoys Manga. His English is excellent. He is easy going and is excited to experience life in the USA. Ideally, he hopes to have a family with (a) host sibling(s) attending Wilde Lake. Host families volunteer to provide room (sharing a room is fine) and board (he is not a picky eater and makes his own lunch!) and to include the student as part of their family. His health insurance is provided through the exchange program and earns a stipend through his scholarship.
This is an opportunity to learn about another country and culture -- as well as create a lifelong relationship! AFS Intercultural Programs has an active program in Howard County with support for both students and families. Wilde Lake has been designated an AFS Top School, let’s keep it that way!
