February is busy in Wilde Lake High School's band department, with three free concerts to liven up the dark winter nights!
On Feb. 6th, steel drum bands from Wilde Lake, Howard and Centennial high schools will play island music and more to warm up the audience. The concert starts at 7 p.m. in Howard High School's auditorium.
On Feb. 11th, the award-winning Wilde Lake Jazz Ensemble plays a hot night of cool jazz, starting at 7 p.m. in the James Rouse Theatre, with special guests, the Northfield Elementary School Jazz Band. Numbers will include "Blue Skies" and "A Child is Born."
And on Feb. 16th, the band department is introducing a night of chamber music with percussion ensemble and marimba ensemble players, featuring music arranged by students an 80's medley and a funk song. The concert is at 7 p.m. in the James Rouse Theatre in Wilde Lake.
